The increased humidity and spring bloom creates more pollen from trees, grass, and weeds, plus, mold spores love the moist environment. All of this plus our natural inclination to spend more time outdoors can make pets vulnerable to ear infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most common causes of ear problems in pets include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bacteria (most common cause)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yeast (due to humid weather)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ear mites and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crossovervet.net\/blog\/how-to-protect-your-pet-against-tick-borne-diseases-in-fayetteville\/\">parasites<\/a> that hatch in spring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allergies to pollen, mold spores, insect bites, or (less common) foods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foreign objects (foxtails or grass)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trapped water (after swimming)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Symptoms of Ear Problems in Pets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Left untreated, ear infections in dogs can eventually cause hearing loss.
